Dr. Gary Tabor, is presently the head of the Wilburforce Foundation's Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Program, which promotes science and conservation to maintain ecological connectivity between parks and protected areas in the Rocky Mountain region of US and Canada.  Dr. Tabor moved to Bozeman, Montana in February 2000 after serving as Founding Executive Director of the Center for Conservation Medicine, an ecological health collaborative between Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, the Wildlife Trust, Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the USGS National Wildlife Health Center. 

Trained as a wildlife veterinarian (University of Pennsylvania) and an ecologist (Yale University), Dr. Tabor's career spans international and North American wildlife conservation domains.  His international conservation background includes eight years of work in East Africa with the Wildlife Conservation Society and the African Wildlife Foundation and one year in Surinam and Panama with Cornell University and National Geographic Research.  He has also served as a biodiversity consultant to the Global Environmental Facility of the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Swedish International Development Authority and most recently with the Danish Ministry of Environment and Energy.

Upon returning from abroad, Dr. Tabor has served as Environmental Program Officer of the Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge Foundation in New Jersey and Associate Director of the Henry P. Kendall Foundation in Boston. Dr. Tabor is a recipient of a Henry Luce Scholars award from the Henry Luce Foundation and H. Stewart Harrison Award from Yale.  He is member of Phi Zeta, the national veterinary honor society and has a Clinical Assistant Professorship at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.
